Nikolai Noel | Trinidad & Tobago

Born in 1976, in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago,
Lives and works in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.

Graduated from the John Donaldson Technical Institute and from the University of West Indies.

He is fellow of the Virginia Commonwealth University where he is currently studying painting and engraving in its Bine Arts department.


For the 2012 edition of the Bocas Lit Fest of Port of Spain, a festival of literature, Nikolai Noel was chosen to create special silkscreen prints to raise funds for the event.

His last individual shows include : The Dimming in Alice Yard, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago (2009) ; Forgiveness in the CCA7 (Caribbean Centre Arts) of Laventille, Trinidad & Tobago (2007) and 200 Drawings with the artist Jaime Lee Loy in Alice Yard, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago (2007).

Regarding his participation to collective exhibitions, his work was showcased in : In the Spirit at the IDB Cultural Center in Washington DC, USA (2011) ; Wrestling with the image at the Art Museum of the Americas in Washington DC, USA (2011) ; Rockstone and Bootheel at Real Art Ways in Hartford, USA (2009) ; the project of installation La Fantasie with Jaime Lee Loy and Marlon Griffith (2008) ; The Black Eye Project in the framework of the project Galvanize through the exhibition Visibly Absent in Alice Yard, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago (2006) and Objects & Actions at the CCA7 (Caribbean Centre Arts) of Laventille, Trinidad & Tobago (2002).
