Graduated from the Escuela de Artes de APEC (1972), Myrna Guerrero gets specialized as an artiste in Marseille, France (1973-1975). She has a degree of Art History from the Université de Provence d’Aix-Marseille, France (1977). Her formation was completed by a diploma in Cultural Administration achieved both in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Caracas, Venezuela (1984, 1985, 1995).

Myrna Guerrero is professor at the Instituto Filosófico Pedro Francisco Bonó, Dominican Republic (2010-2011) ; at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (2010) and at the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra, Dominican Republic (1977-2008).

She directed the cultural supplement to the newspaper El Caribe between 1995 and 2000.

Myrna Guerrero was part of the group that created the Centro Cultural Eduardo León Jimenes (1999-2003) and occupied the position of manager of the cultural services of the centre until 2004.

Currently, she is the director of the Museo Bellapart in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

She is also a member of the dominican section of the AICA – ADCA/AICA ; of the AICA as well as of the Colegio Dominicano de Artistas Plásticos (CODAP).

Myrna Guerrero curated several significant exhibitions.
Recently, she organized the retrospective Alas y Raíces. Ada Balcácer, with Karenia Guillarón, at the Centro León (2011). Altogether with Danilo de los Santos, she curated Ámbitos enlazados – show from a selection of artworks from the Banco Popular’s collection at the Centro Cultural Perelló in Baní, Dominican Republic (2011) ; Huellas por la Mar. Deslumbramiento/Alumbramiento – to commemorate the 70 years of Spanish Republican exil in Dominican Republic at the Palacio de Bellas Artes of Santo Domingo (2010).

Alone she curated for the photography festival Photoimagen of 2008 the following projects : Dentro y fuera… ; Trans… ; Entre dos… and Un ojo por el mundo. But also Utopías urbanas by Carlos Acero (2006) ; Tiempos dominicanos by Miriam Calzada (Washington, 2006) ; Escritura del espacio (2005) and, within the Centro León Jimenes, she was in charge of preparing the inaugural exhibition : Génesis y Trayectoria. La Colección León Jimenes. Arte dominicano de los siglos XX y XXI (2003) and the retrospective of photographer Max Pou, Cien veces Max (2004).

She authored the books “El Palacio de Bellas Artes 1956-2008” (2008) ; Aquiles Azar, pasión y fidelidad a la expresión en el dibujo (2004) and Espacios de luz de Amaya Salazar (2002).

Myrna Guerrero contributed with essays to the collective books : Basílica Catedral de Santo Domingo (2011) ; Arte Dominicano Joven (2009) and Mujer y Arte Dominicano Hoy (1995).
