Jasmine Thomas-Girvan | Jamaica

Jasmine Thomas-Girvan holds a BFA in Jewellery & Textile Design from the Parsons School of Design in New York, USA.

In 2001, she is artist in residency during Big River II in Trinidad & Tobago.

Resonance at the Hi-Qo Art & Framing Gallery in Kingston, Jamaica (2012) and Gardening in the Tropics’ at the Y Gallery in Woodbrook, Trinidad & Tobago (2011).

She is at the heart of the event Interpretations: Gardening in the Tropics organized by ARC Magazine and the Medulla Art Gallery in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago in 2012.

In 2012-2013, she is on the selected artists to participate into the 6th National Biennial of Jamaica at the National Gallery of Jamaica.


She is awarded the Aaron Matalon Award during the 6th National Biennial of the National Gallery of Jamaica as winner for best in show in 2012. Jasmine Thomas-Girvan is also recipient of several prizes for her work such as the Tiffany Honour Award for Excellence ; the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Jamaica and the Commonwealth Foundation Arts award (1996).
