Audry Liseron-Monfils | French Guyana

Born in Cayenne, French Guyana,
Lives and works between Leuven, Belgium and Lille, France.

Graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Bordeaux with honors (1994) and from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Nantes, both in France (1995).

Audry Liseron-Monfils was artist in residence in Kër Thiossane in Dakar, Senegal, in the framework of the Festival Afropixel in 2010.

In 2004, he is recipient of a grant of creation from the DRAC Nord-Pas de Calais, and in 2005-2006, he is recipient of the Villa Médicis Hors les Murs program for an artistic residence in New York and New Orleans, USA.

His last individual shows include : What’s Night Up To at the Galerie Anton Weller – Isabelle Suret in Paris, France (2009) ; CORP-US 0106. My Favorite Swimming Pool at Time Square in New York, USA (2006) ; Scapes Flows Drawings at the Centre d’Arts Visuels of Lille, France (2006) ; South Side in Dallas, USA (2004) ; CORP-US 0103 at the Dillard University of New Orleans, USA (2003) ; Bright light of dark eyes at the Galerie du Haïdouc in Bourges, France (2002-2003) ; CORP-US 04.02 at the Aquarium in Valenciennes, France (2002) and Audry Liseron-Monfils at the Gaswork Gallery in London, UK (2000).

Regarding his participation to collective exhibitions, his work was showcased in : Kreyol Factory at the Grande Halle de la Villette, Paris, France (2009) ; Latitudes – Terres du Monde at the Hôtel de Ville (town hall) of Paris, France (2007) that travelled to Guadeloupe (2010), Panama and the 10th Havana Biennial (2009) ; Animaltérité II at the Vitrine in Limoges, France (2007) ; Daniel Domig & Audry Liseron-Monfils at Thrust Projects in New York, USA (2007) ; Double Sens at the Galerie Commune in Tourcoing, France (2007) ; Latitudes – Terres d’Amazonie at the Hôtel de Ville (town hall) of Paris, France (2006) ; Between Walls at the Museo Alfredo Duges in Mexico DF, Mexico (2006) ; Figures de l’errance at the Université des Sciences et Technologies of Lille, France (2003) ; Exit Congo Museum at the Royal Museum of Central Africa of Tervuren, Belgium (2002) and Atelier 94 Arc at the Musée d’Art Moderne of Paris, France (1994).

Audry Liseron-Monfils participates in the Triennial of New Delhi, India in 1997 and represents France there.
